At the United Shalom Pentecostal Church, we have an army of youth in whom we have great hope. Youth activities are held once in a month wherein they develop biblical knowledge and self confidence. The youth camp specially organised once in a year during school holidays has proved to be a blessing to the youth. At the camp, youths from each local church spend their time together. Here they not only get to know each other but they also learn in depth about God and personal moral life.

It is the place where they discover that being a Christ follower is a daily journey towards becoming more and more Christ-like in character and commitment.

Summer Camp Report

Last year in the month of August, the youth of United Shalom Pentecostal Church went on a two day summer camp to the Lake district. Here they were engaged in both indoor as well as outdoor activities. Outdoor activities included a visit to Windermere, where they enjoyed the serene beauty of the surroundings as well as engaged in team and individual games. Indoor activities involved Group discussions and also some teachings about moral and spiritual development. Group discussion was based on the topic Friendship, where the youth were divided into 5-6 teams and they discussed among themseleves the importance of choosing the right friends and how bad friendship could have a negative impact on their life. The teams then went on to present what they thought was the right kind of friendship they could have as a Christian and what could be the end result of a good and bad friendship. The message on moral and spiritual development by Pr Sojan Mathew enlightened the youth on many aspects of life and shed light on many questions they had. As some of them put it, the message was thought provoking and encouraging and helped many of the youth to take certain decisions. The youth were also encouraged to spend quality time in meditating upon the Word of God and prayer during the early hours of the day. Many of them were later to say that they had "develpoed a habit of reading the Word of God regularly and systematically" after the youth camp.
